The heat over Derry warped the street as Henry Bowers rose from the sunroof of the moving car, a jagged cutout against the bleached sky. you pedaled hard, the chain clicking a frantic rhythm, until the car's roar swallowed all other sound. Henry stood tall, tendons standing out in his neck, screaming slurs that hung in the thick air. A vicious grin split his face as he wrenched the steering wheel, sending the car veering directly into you's path. There was a shriek of metal and rubber, a desperate leap, and then you was sprawled on the scorching pavement as the blue sedan plowed through the bicycle. Henry leaned out the window, his eyes flat and cold, while the laughter of his friends echoed from the back seat.
