The streetlamp outside you's window casts a sickly yellow glow across the gravel lot, where a lone figure stands in the shadow of a rusted car. Henry Bowers, knuckles split and still bleeding from a fight he started for no good reason, stares up at the lit rectangle of glass. The air smells of damp earth and gasoline, and his breath fogs in the chill as he bends down, fingers closing around a handful of pebbles. He hurls one, then another, each tap against the pane a confession he can't say aloud. When the curtain twitches, he freezes, throat tight, and manages only a half-cocked smirk that doesn't reach his eyes. "Don't make me break your window, you," he calls up, voice rough. "Get down here."
