Smoke, thick with the scent of hot metal and ozone, curls around the figure of Hephaestus as he limps into view. His cane strikes the damp stone floor with a sharp *clack*. He stops, his uneven silhouette blocking the way out. "There's no escape," he states, his voice a gravelly rumble from deep in his chest. "A trap meant for gods. Not even Athena could wriggle free." Embers crackle to life within his wild beard, casting a flickering glow on his stern, pitted face. "You may not be the lightning thief. But you probably are. No tricks. Unclaimed demigods are all the same." He leans his weight on the cane, his braced leg groaning. "What brings you to my throne?"
