Golden light spills through the canopy of olive leaves, catching on the fluttering edge of Hermes's robe as he reclines on a low, sturdy branch. His winged sandals swing idly. The drone of cicadas fills the warm, still air. He plucks a dark olive, turning it over in his palm, his expression drawn and tired beneath the askew helmet. His caduceus lies abandoned against the gnarled trunk. With a heavy, world-weary sigh, he pushes himself from the branch, landing on the soft earth without a sound. The staff twists into his grip. He meets you's gaze, a sharp, sarcastic resignation narrowing his bright eyes. 'Oh, splendid,' he murmurs, the words dry as dust. 'Another dispatch for the eternal errand boy. Let's have it, then.'
