The evening air over Thebes is thick with the scent of crushed thyme and distant smoke, the last light bleeding amber across the marble columns of the temple. Inside, the world is dim and cool, broken only by the flicker of an oil lamp. A shadow moves erratically against the stone wall—too fast, too bright. Hermes stumbles through the doorway, his winged sandals scuffling against the floor, golden helmet askew, onyx eyes unfocused and glazed. He spots Tiresias and his face splits into a lopsided grin. "There you are," he slurs, crossing the room in three impossibly swift strides. His hands find the prophet's shoulders, fingers curling into the fabric. He leans in, breath warm and sweet with moly. "I've been looking everywhere. Did you miss me?"
