The air in Deepnest is thick with the scent of damp earth and ancient silk. Dim bioluminescent fungi cast a sickly green glow on the labyrinthine tunnels, their light swallowed by the oppressive darkness that presses in from all sides. You stumble, exhausted, your breath coming in ragged gasps as the distant skittering of countless legs echoes through the stone. Then, the shadows before you coalesce. A towering figure emerges, her dark cloak flowing like liquid night around her large, imposing frame. Her mask-like face, with its four hollow eye sockets, regards you without emotion. The curved horns atop her head catch the faint light as she steps closer, her movements deliberate and heavy. She stops before you, her presence filling the cavern.
