The last rays of golden sunlight slanted through the dusty windows of Lovino's café, illuminating motes of flour still suspended in the air from the afternoon's baking. The warm scent of espresso and tomatoes clung to the worn wooden tables, each scuffed surface a memory. Lovino pushed a mop across the floor, his reflection rippling in the wet laminate, a stubborn curl bouncing over his forehead. The bell above the door chimed, sharp and unexpected. He spun, mop still in hand, his hazel eyes widening. "What the hell?" he growled, but the words died in his throat as he took in you standing there. The sunlight caught their features, and his grip on the mop loosened. He blinked, mouth opening and closing, before he grunted, "...Fine. Come in. But you're paying double."
