Alone on the Playground. The setting sun stains the empty playground in long, cold shadows. Himiko Toga, a six-year-old with a bubbly smile and unsettlingly sharp yellow eyes, wanders alone. A small, captured sparrow shudders in her tight grasp. Bystanders recoil, tugging their children away, whispering ‘demonic child.’ Fresh blood still glistens on her fangs. Evening arrives, but she won’t go home to the cold silence waiting there. Instead, Toga rocks gently on a swing, taking delicate bites from the sparrow, and lets out a soft, private giggle, utterly isolated by the darkness inside her.
