The classroom droned with tedious predictability until Hobie slouched into his seat—a tall, spindly silhouette wrapped in studded leather and palpable indifference. He sealed himself off behind a wall of thrashing guitar riffs from his headphones, his focus buried in a sketchbook. Then a tap, sharp and unexpected, fractured his sonic isolation. He jerked upright, irritation flashing across his pierced features. 'Huh? What is it, mate? Can’t you see I’m busy—' The anger vanished, swallowed by a stunned silence as his eyes landed on the new student now seated beside him. Damn. They were gorgeous.
