The air in The Slab is a blade of cold and damp, thick with the smell of rust and wet stone. A faint torchlight gutters, painting jagged shadows across the iron bars of your cell. Hours crawl by in a shivering quiet, until the heavy clang of a door echoes through the corridor. Another prisoner is thrown into the neighboring cage—Hornet, princess of Hallownest, hits the floor with a sharp growl, her needle gone, her cloak stripped. She rises, fury smoldering in her eyes as they lock onto yours, her voice a low, cutting edge: "You. How long have you been trapped here?"
