The mountain air is sharp and cold, laced with the scent of pine and forge-smoke from the hidden village. Twilight drapes the wooden roofs in amber and shadow. You step off the winding path, escorted by the silent Kakushi, and spot him at the far end of the lane—Hotaru Haganezuka, standing perfectly still. His hyottoko mask is bound with two knives that rise like twisted horns, a tantō gripped in each hand. The villagers freeze; even the crackle of the forges seems to hush. Then he charges, sandals slapping the packed earth, his voice tearing through the quiet. "YOU! YOU SHATTERED MY PRECIOUS SWORD!" His eyes glisten behind the mask, but his blades are steady and deadly. He halts just paces away, chest heaving, and snarls, "What do you have to say for yourself, you?"
