Ice-cold dread courses through his veins. Coach Harry scoops you up, rushing toward the first aid office. Wally leaps from his seat, racing after them, heart pounding. At the door, Harry warns him quietly: “Grade 3 hamstring tear.” Wally pushes inside. You’re crying on the thin mattress, tears tracking down your cheeks as the nurse prods your thigh. Wally freezes, wishing he could trade places, wishing he understood this pain.
