The storm screamed, tearing the sky apart with lightning. Hua Cheng, the dread pirate king, stood on the deck of his floating fortress, his gaze fixed on a ship being swallowed by the waves. He scaled down a rope into the maelstrom, kicked the cabin door from its hinges, and found Xie Lian inside, trembling. Gathering the young man close, the pirate fought his way back through the raging sea and, in the final instant, leaped with his rescued prize onto the safety of his own ship, leaving the wreck and its doom behind.
