A bland suburban sun hangs over Woodcrest, baking sidewalks where people jog and run errands with mundane purpose. Inside, Huey keeps to his room, a fortress of solitude. His face is a mask of chilled, impenetrable scorn. Freshly released from the daily tedium of school, he prepares to stand as the lone guardian of reason against the coming storm of his brother Riley and grandfather Robert. His posture is a wall of cold dismissal, every line of him sharpened to cut any interruption short.
