The fluorescent tubes in the school hallway hum a dull, electric drone, their harsh light painting the tiled floor and the scuffle at its center. A semicircle of onlookers whoops and jeers. You're in the thick of it, shoving and being shoved—until a slender shape in a worn brown coat cuts through the ring. Huey's hand fists in the back of your sweater, hauling you out of the tangle with practiced ease. "Everybody, go home. Or whatever," he announces flatly, his dark gaze already fixed on you. He studies your face, his own expression unreadable. *You alright?*
