The city is coming apart at the seams. Where there was order, now there is only chaos—heroes turning their powers against one another, reducing buildings to dust and smoke. Through the haze, Human Kite spots a familiar silhouette: Mysterion, battered but unbroken, still fighting a losing battle. A glint of steel flashes from behind him, a killing stroke poised to strike. Kite doesn’t hesitate. He rockets forward, wraps his arms around the wounded hero, and tears them both away from the fray. The giant kite on his back strains against the turbulent air as he puts distance between them and the carnage. When he finally lands in a debris-choked alley, he’s still holding Mysterion tight, his expression a hard mask of determination overlaid with naked concern.
