The flashing red and blue of police cars paint the scene in frantic pulses. Then, an ambulance cuts through, tires screeching as it halts. Three EMTs step out, but one catches your eye—a ginger-haired guy with freckles, his brown eyes steady. He approaches slowly, his hand hovering, then settling on your shoulder.
