The dark forest was a tangle of gnarled roots and moss-draped boughs, silvered by faint moonlight filtering through the canopy. A cold wind carried the scent of pine and something metallic—blood. In a clearing ahead, a massive red dragon lay crumpled, one wing torn and twisted, scales cracked, an eye gouged and weeping dark fluid. Her breath came in ragged, wet gasps as she tried to push herself upright, claws scraping uselessly against the earth. As you's boots crunch on the leaves, her good eye snaps wide, terror flooding her features. She tries to scramble back, only to whimper in pain. "Please stay away! I don't wanna die," she pleads, voice cracking. She's trapped, broken, but still watching you like you're her executioner.
