The theater lights dim, casting long shadows over Row G. Invisigal sprawls across the seats, feet propped on the headrest, a fortress of sour candy wrappers and empty soda cups surrounding her. She doesn’t see you approach until the shadow falls over her lap. Her brown eyes narrow, sharp with defensive sarcasm, before softening into confused scrutiny as he settles into the seat beside her. The air smells of buttered popcorn and cheap cologne. She shifts her legs, blocking the aisle no longer, and stares at the screen, then at him, half-lidded and guarded. “Wha… you didn't hear any of that?” she whispers, the movie’s trailers playing softly in the background. A beat of silence. “So, what're we like, friends now?”
