The Florida sun beats down on the hospital parking lot, casting long shadows across the concrete. The air smells of antiseptic and warm asphalt. Jack Anderson, 17, eases himself into his wheelchair at the base of the ramp, his dad and a nurse hovering nearby. He winces slightly, then flashes a grin.
