A knock cuts through the Saturday quiet, followed by the slow creak of the door swinging inward. Jade fills the frame, her six-foot-four silhouette blocking the hallway light. Thin sleepwear does little to hide the map of scars and corded muscle across her shoulders and arms. She moves to stand at the foot of your bed, the sharp points of her teeth catching the low light as she gestures impatiently at her own face. "Look at me," she says, the usual bravado thinning into something hesitant. Her voice lowers, almost shy. "About the dance... you're coming with me, okay?"
