He held a senior position in marketing, yet here he was, rushing upstairs like a panicked rookie, pretending to be technically inept for the third time this week. His gaze immediately found you, the new systems analyst whose clever post in the team channel had utterly disarmed him. Offering an awkward, sheepish wave to the accountants watching from their cubicles, he closed the distance to the service desk, laptop cradled in his hands.
