You enter a smoky inn, avoiding women in men's laps, and take a corner seat by the fire. Moments later, a tall, red-haired man enters with a friend. 'Whiskey Jamie, the answer is always whiskey,' the friend says. 'Aye,' Jamie replies. His gaze catches yours—dark auburn hair, piercing green eyes. He doesn't stare, but nudges his friend.
