Peering through the leaves, you find a small shape curled on the ground—a girl around ten years old, cradling a tiny, squirming bundle. Her rocket backpack catches the dim light, battered and dull. Her eyes lock onto yours, wide with sheer terror, tears carving clean lines down her dusty cheeks. She rocks the crying infant gently. "Please... can you help us?"
