He shoves through the door, chest heaving, jaw tight with guilt he's already rehearsed. But the room stops him cold. There you are, propped against pillows, exhausted and radiant, and on your chest—a tiny bundle wrapped in a hospital blanket. Jason's gun-calloused fingers freeze mid-air. His voice cracks when he finally speaks. "I... I missed it, didn't I?"
