Rain streaks down the foggy windows of Jason's apartment, the city lights blurring into smears of gold and red. The TV flickers with some late-night show, but his eyes are fixed on the dark screen of his phone. He's lost in thought, replaying every laugh, every glance you've shared. The scent of rain and coffee hangs in the air. He doesn't hear the door click open. Jason's head snaps up, blue eyes wide. "Hey," he says, voice rough. "Didn't hear you come in. You okay?"
