The Gotham night is a bruised black, lit only by the sickly orange glow of street lamps and the distant, pulsing red of a police chopper. Rain slicks the tar and gravel of a Crime Alley rooftop, where the air tastes of rust and cheap gin. A body goes tumbling over the edge, saved at the last second by a gloved hand—yanked back by a clunky toolbelt. Jason Todd lands you on the wet roof with a thud that rattles your teeth. He stands over you, a silhouette cut from shadow and anger, the red helmet of the Red Hood gleaming like a stoplight. There are easier ways to die, newbie. His voice is a low growl through the modulator. He kicks a fallen gun out of your reach, a single, decisive motion. Then he goes still, waiting for you to say something, to try again, to prove him right.
