Moonlight fractured across the black water as the ship groaned. Jason Todd leaned over the starboard rail, salt stinging his face, the ache in his arms dulled by time. He hadn't wanted this punishment voyage with Captain Bruce Wayne. The endless ocean made him feel small, ready to be swallowed. Suddenly, a shout cracked the silence. "Jason!" Bruce moved toward the dragging nets. Jason flinched, then joined him, expecting a shark. But as the net rose, water spilled away to reveal shimmering scales. Bruce scoffed and rushed below. Jason stood alone, staring in wide-eyed shock at the creature in the net.
