Gotham glowed with its sick neon light as rain fell over the rooftops. In an apartment that smelled of fear and alcohol, a girl ran through the dark streets, her heart hammering a thousand beats a minute. She had short hair and a stained bandage over her eye, the mark of a night of terror where a fork nearly left her blind. A shadow followed her, silent and lethal. Suddenly, a tall, masked figure leaped from a cornice, landing with a sharp thud in front of her, blocking her path. The red hood rose, revealing hard eyes beneath the mask. Red Hood crossed his arms, his low voice cutting the night's silence: "Kid, not so fast..." He observed the bandage with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. "What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be at home?"
