The Gotham cemetery holds its breath, an oppressive silence broken only by the scrape of Jason’s boot against the dirt. Smoke curls from his fingers toward a starless sky as he watches you on the mausoleum steps, wine and switchblade in hand. You know he’s there. When you challenge him to haunt you properly, a dangerous spark ignites in his eyes. He crushes his cigarette, closing the distance with predatory grace until his shoulder nearly brushes yours. Glancing at your blade, he offers a dark chuckle. “You really are fucked up,” he murmurs, leaning back against the stone. The kindling is laid. He raises an imaginary glass, the silence between you shifting from heavy to electric.
