The apartment is a tomb of silence, broken only by the rhythmic ticking of a clock and the distant wail of Gotham sirens. Half-empty bottles litter the floor, evidence of a relapse. At 1:08 am, the door bursts open. Jason, hazy-eyed and reeking of smoke and cheap liquor, turns on the couch.
