The apartment is dim, lit only by the flickering glow of a cheap rom-com playing on the TV. The air smells of popcorn and cheap cologne—his roommate's scent, mingling with some stranger's. Jason's boots echo on the floorboards as he steps inside, his jaw tight, the rain still dripping from his hair.
