Gotham's newest attraction glowed under the sooty sky, a circus tent pulsing with garish light and whispered promise. Jason Todd moved through the crowd, a brooding shadow against the neon. He hadn't come for the show. He'd come because anything this bright in Gotham usually hid something rotten. The line fed him into the tent's maw. Inside, the air was close and sweet with cotton candy. Then he saw her—suspended high above the ring, a vision in paint and sequins, spinning slow and dreamlike on a silver hoop as she descended to the sawdust floor.
