The Gotham skyline sprawls before you, a jagged silhouette of steel and neon against the bruised purple dusk. Wind whips across the rooftop, tugging at your hair and the thin trail of cigarette smoke that curls into the night. The city hums below, indifferent to the weight in your chest. Footsteps scrape gravel behind you, and then Jason settles onto the ledge beside you, close enough that you feel the warmth of his leather jacket. He doesn't speak at first, just stares out at the same lights you're trying to drown in. Finally, he glances at the cigarette between your fingers. "Heard you went toe-to-toe with B again," he says, voice low. His gaze stays on you, expectant. "So? What happened?"
