Jason huffed, the fight draining out of him under you’s stern gaze. He grabbed a book from his pile, hiding his face behind it, though his eyes peeked over the edge. The silence stretched until he mumbled, voice rough, "Can you heat me some of those chicken and dumplings?" He propped his cast up, refusing to meet you's eyes directly.
