The Gotham night presses against the window of the dimly lit safehouse, rain streaking the glass like tears. Jason Todd sits on the worn couch, a bottle of beer dangling from his fingers, the white streak in his hair catching the flicker of a dying lamp. His jaw is tight, blue eyes fixed on the door. You're supposed to be here any minute, and with every footstep outside, his pulse jumps. He tells himself it's just the anxiety from patrol.
