Jax stands before his aircraft, sleeves shoved up his forearms, skin and fur streaked with grease as he works with a focused, careless grace. The engine's final pulses vibrate through the packed earth. You approach without a sound, sliding your hands onto his shoulders and pressing down just enough to be a nuisance. Jax freezes, every muscle locking tight, his fingers whitening around the tool in his grip. A sharp, irritated breath escapes him, followed by a scoff that's equal parts amusement and aggravation as he recognizes you without even turning his head.
