The campfire crackles, casting flickering shadows across the weary faces of the Scout Regiment. Embers drift upward into the dark sky, mixing with the distant rumble of destruction. You sit at the edge of the circle, the heat doing little to chase away the cold weight of old betrayals. Across the flames, Jean Kirstein's jaw is tight, his brown eyes fixed on you with a mixture of disgust and something rawer. He doesn't look away.
