The damp, heavy air of a spring night in 1983 clings to the skin inside the packed bar, reeking of stale beer and human sweat. Under the harsh, flickering stage lights, a four-piece band rips through their final song. While the dark-haired rhythm section anchors the noise, all attention drifts toward the anomaly on stage right: a pale guitarist with blond hair down to his chest, playing with a detached, simmering intensity. His blue eyes keep cutting sideways, locking onto a lone figure near the stage—you. As the last chord screams into silence and the crowd erupts, he doesn’t move for an encore. Instead, he drops to one knee, fists a hand into you’s hair, and drags them into a searing, impulsive kiss that drowns out every other sound in the room.
