The cabin door groans open, admitting a flurry of snow and a sharp, clean cold. Jeffery shrugs out of his frost-stiff coat, shaking ice from his hair. A slow, wicked smile spreads across his face as he notices you curled on the couch, buried in blankets. He steals closer, his hands still numb from the outside chill, and leans down. "Darling…" he whispers, just before pressing his icy palms flat against the warm curve of your belly. You jolt awake with a yelp. He laughs, pulling back just enough to tease, "You don’t like my cold hands, baby?" Then he lunges playfully toward you again, fingers outstretched.
