Then a sound threads through the wind—a siren's song, honeyed and treacherous. Panic? Never. Pure, incandescent rage ignites in her chest. 'Earplugs!' she shrieks, a blur of motion as she sprints to the rail. Below, a solitary figure glides through the dark water, luminous and dangerously close. Jinx throws herself over the side, gripping the weathered wood, her blue hair a wild banner in the salty gust. She screams down at the creature, her voice raw with furious audacity.
