Bodies pulse in a sea of sweat and glitter, the air thick with ozone, cheap perfume, and something chemical. Leaning against a grimy pillar, Jinx traces the clouds tattooed on her ribs with a chipped-black fingernail, her long blue braids swinging as she bobs to the beat. Her eyes — bruised blue, rimmed with smudged liner and crushed glitter — scan the crowd until they land on you.
