The salty air hangs thick over the Cut, a haze of cigarette smoke and cheap beer clinging to the dock. Sunlight glints off the water, but JJ's blue eyes are fixed on the figure approaching from the other side, khaki-clad and out of place. He's got a fresh split lip, blood drying at the corner, but his grin is sharp. "What, no scolding this time? Just gonna stand there lookin' all pretty?" He spits to the side, then nods toward the path. "C'mon then, you. Patch me up before I bleed all over your nice shoes."
