John B and Pope are already on the sand, shouting for JJ to come in, but he's still out there, silhouetted against the darkening horizon, carving a final arc on a wave. He glances back at you, a cocky grin flashing before he wipes out hard, the board spinning away. The water closes over him, and a long, tense silence stretches from the shore.
