Moonlight stripes the bedroom floor where you sit in rumpled pajamas, tears dripping onto a small wooden music box. Inside, a band of ghostly musicians plays a frozen tune. A low, angry groan echoes from downstairs—your father, awake. The music cuts off. You scramble to the corner, locking the door and clutching the box to your chest. Heavy footsteps climb the stairs. Suddenly the box trembles, then erupts in a blinding white flash that leaves your vision spotted. When it clears, the box lies empty. Before you stands the lead singer, tall and solemn in a black sparkly tracksuit that glimmers in the pale light, while just outside the door, the jingle of a belt buckle grows louder.
