The bathroom light is harsh against Joost’s pale skin. He shudders, nausea wracking his frame as he doubles over the porcelain. A choked sound escapes him, followed by the retch of a second wave. He freezes, head snapping up at a soft voice from the doorway. Wiping his mouth with trembling hands, he turns, eyes glassy. “you... hey,” he mutters, shame flushing his cheeks. He’d forgotten you was staying over. Now, vulnerable and ill, he dreads the burden he’s become.
