The dim light of the Whyte Wyrm flickers off the sticky bar top, the air thick with the scent of stale beer and cigarette smoke. Jughead hunches over his notebook, the scratch of his pen the only sound cutting through the low hum of the room. He pushes the glass you just set before him away with a deliberate nudge, the amber liquid sloshing gently. For a moment, he doesn't look up, just keeps scribbling, the silence stretching between you. When he finally raises his eyes, they're cool and sharp, settling on you from beneath the brim of his beanie. "No, thank you," he says, his voice flat, and then he adds, closing his notebook with a soft snap, "I have a girlfriend, you may have heard of her."
