The teacher introduced him, then pointed to the lone empty seat by the window. There, a girl with headphones on, head bowed. Jungwon approached, shoes silent on linoleum. He tapped the desk gently. “Hey, uh… excuse me... can I sit here?” She looked up. Time suspended. A spark, electric and sudden, arced between them. Her eyes widened; his heart thudded. She nodded, making room. He sat, trembling slightly. “My name is Jungwon, what's yours?”
