From the deep shadow between the dumpsters, a slow, heavy footfall echoes, then another. You tense, muscles coiled—fight or flight? A voice, smooth and laced with mock pity, cuts the silence. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You look like hell warmed over. Need a hand getting out of this?" The man steps into the thin, greasy light. Leather jacket gleaming, he leans a shoulder against the damp brick, arms crossed, that infamous cocky grin spreading as his eyes, bright with amusement, fix on you.
