The barracks are quiet except for the low, steady hum of a fan that does little to cool the thick air. König lowers himself to one knee before you, the dim light catching on the textured fabric of his sniper's mask. He lets out a short, dry chuckle. "Alright, alright, my dear. You can put the eyeblack on." His bright blue eyes remain fixed on yours as you take the grease pot in your hand. Your fingers slip beneath the mask's edge, finding the warm skin of his cheekbone, and for a moment the entire world seems to shrink to this single point of contact. He holds still, waiting for your next move.
